What kind of fishing are you doing? I use 30# spiderwire fusion on both baitcasters and spinning reels when catfishing in the Ohio river, but I use 2-3# mono. for crappie, bluegill and the like. I can attest to the toughness of the spiderwire. If you get a snag with the 30# stuff you play hell trying to break the line.

Cball~~ That's why I asked him what kind of fishing he was going to be doing. I agree with you about the monofilament for bass, crappie, and bluegill. In my experience you don't catch as many of these species with fusion because of the color. Besides what fun is it to catch small fish with 30# line. Not much fun IMO. However when fishing deep holes in the Ohio river the color of the line makes no difference and this is what I use for catfish. In my experience the 30# mono. cannot compare to the 30# fusion strength wise. Just My Opinion.
