Fish one hour before dark until about 2 or 3 in the morning. Use chicken liver, shad, minnows, etc.

If there is no current in the body of water and you are relatively alone, use a love bream (bluegill to some) and a hook (no weight). Take the bream and make 2 cuts on each side of the body behind the belly. Do not cut through the backbone. Hook the bream behind the head and in front of the dorsal fin. Throw it out and leave the bail open (or button pushed) so the line can free spool. The bream will stay close to the top of the water and will quiver and drive the big cats crazy. When the line starts spooling out, let him run with it for a ways, hold the rod up ( give slack ), drop the tip, close the bail and when the line gets tight, sock it to him.
