I catch some pretty good flats using a 8 foot piece of 3/4 pvc pipe. About 6 foot of good nylon twine , a 2 once sinker and a good sharp hook. Stick this bank pole in the river bank as far as you can get it, bait with a perch or gold fish and come back in the morning . I call this LAZY MAN FISHING.

So far the tally here in Iowa is Tom - 1 channel cat 2 lbs, and me 2 buffalo -3lbs

The rain and water level havent been the best. Going to keep trying.

From around 4pm till 1am. Hit and miss. Seems like they will hit good for a while then just stop for an hour or so.

Went yesterday and only caught 2 in 3 hrs. One was around 7# and the other was only like 2#.
