Matt,
That's quite a lunker.
Quite dark in colour.
Amazes me how you guys have so much sucess with fly on Kings.
Down here the Kings/Chinook have just started their annual run from the sea.
The early catchs are promising 7-10 KG (3-4 Y/O)
I haven't connected yet, but saw a nice 24 pound fish landed last week.
Back to my comment about the flies.
We have limited sucess here with feathered lures, but majority of fish are caught on silver lures.
Prime salmon country is just 10 minutes from where I live.

It would have to be sharks. I have pulled in a tigger over 200lbs plus, estimated. It could eaisly be high hundreds or low two hundreds. We were catching bull sharks one night. All were 50 to 100 lbs. when we hooked into this monster. It took over an hour to get in. We were using heavy action pen reals. I hooked it on a pen senator real. 80lb test 1000lb wire leader. Heavy action Monatigo pole. We dont know the actuall weight because it was to big to try to get in the boat. It was over 13 ft. We got a good look at it, and cut the leader.

p.s.

13' and only 200lbs??? Sounds like it would be well over 200 if it were 13' in length. The 6' 9" bull that I caught was well over 150 (a real fat boy).

Freshwater: 32 pound King Salmon.
Salt: 85 pound Groper. Have caught some real big sharks, but have no idea what the weight was. One was as long as my 12 foot 6 inflatable boat.
You can guess why I didn't want that one near the boat.
