Default big lake Sturgeon

/Users/gjersy/Desktop/sturgeon.jpg I took the boys and there buds Sucker fishing down to the river today. My youngest the 14 year old caught this beauty! We had to throw it back, it swam away quick. Anyway we slayed the Redhorse, got a batch ready to smoke, going back in the morn to catch some more to can, good times!

Sturgeon are a great game fish. When I was stationed near San Francisco we used to fish for them in the bay using grass shrimp. We caught them up to 5 or 6 feet long but like you had to release them. There was a slot limit and if my memory is correct anything over 42 inches was protected and I don't remember getting any that small. Hard fighting fish.

Yes Flags, I agree Sturgeon are great and a under-rated game fish. We just got a batch of Suckers smoked. It was a great week-end, good fishing, good weather and doing it all with my boys and there buds!/Users/gjersy/Desktop/IMG_5718.jpg/Users/gjersy/Desktop/IMG_1225.jpg
