Default I went out and caught some nice fish..

I have been out catching some nice white perch as the wife said she wanted some eating fish.. LOL So I gave it a shot and caught 22 nice perch mostly in the 1 to 1 1/2 lb. range.. I did keep 4 that were a little smaller as they were hooked bad. I also caught plenty of smallmouths, chain pickeral, sunfish, as well as yellow perch. It was an interesting time out there as a storm had blew in and I had to head for cover. I took the boat into shore and sat and waited the storm out. I only took it to shore as I did not think I could make back to the landing in time to avoid it. After the storm the fish started hitting like crazy and I enjoyed the rest of the day fishing.. Here is a few pics of the perch and 1 of the smallmouths..

getting a few more ready to filet. Here is 2 of the smaller ones in this pic..

The finished product, just like haddock! One gallon of filets..

One of several smallmouths I caught..

Thanks,

Yeah, we love those perch filets.. I caught several of those smallies and quite a few that size I am showing. Everything went on the bite directly after the rain had stopped. The water calmed right down almost like looking in a mirror..

I went out last night and caught another charge of white perch.. The last ones tasted great! This time I put a big bunch of filets together so I can take some to work for the crew to have for lunch sometime soon.. We like to get someone to cook us lunch at work every once in a while if time allows for it.. So I figured why not because most everyone likes the perch..

Thanks Chuck! Congrats on the fishing! I would love to catch one of those heavey wieghts..

I almost went out yesterday evening. I never went out because the light company showed up and cut the top of a big silver maple tree that had been dead for a few years now. I have been sawing it up and trying to burn some of the branches in my little fire pit. It has been quite hot up here for us the past couple of weeks.. I love it though! It is to me much better than the -20 stuff..
