Took the boat out this morning..

Hi all, I went and took the boat out this morning o see how everything is working with it. I worked last night and decided to try the boat out. When I got home this morning I decided to try and heat that prop up to try and straighten it out some. Well it worked pretty good with still some vibtation going on. It was nice this morning and no wind for a little while. I went and did some fishing and caught 4 white perch several smallmouths and largemouths. As well as quite few pickeral.I am going to post a few pics of what the water was like this morning.
Here is where I put the boat in..

Here is a rock that if the water was about a foot higher you wouldn't see it. Most of our lakes up here have them.

Here is a pic of a largemouth that I caught this morning..

I never really wieghed it.. My guess was around 3lbs. Which is not big enough to catch Buckhunter.. LOL But we have them and sooner or later I just may hook onto a couple of those grand daddy lunkers.. lol. I will be trying again after a while when our perch have schooled up better.
Yeah Gangly.. All of our lakes have some of these and some are worse than others with ledges shooting straight up. Even when going slow around those can still be tricky..

Nice fish Phil....Our bass are going deep as well but hard to get to bite..I can't wait until the full moon week comes up..I want to study the fish finder and see if there are any differences between a 'Bad Lunar ' day and a 'Good lunar' day.

Thanks Chuck..
Here is my plan on catching Buckhunter ..LOL.. If all goes well that is..
Every summer around August we will see some big smashers breaking water that will not hit anything at all. They will be doing all this right out in the middile of the lake. I currently have around 4 1/2 dozen shiners that I caught in a bait trap. They are native to the lake as I had caught them out of a stream that flows into the lake. Once I see them rising I will go out and start my trolling motor and troll a decent size shiner through out the area they were rising in. If one happens to hit I will most surely be posting it here for you to see. It should be in the double digits, but, it may not be quite that big. I would most certainly expect to see a big one or 2 this year however..
I have to change the amount of bait I now have.. As I went out and hauled my bait trap up for now. I can easily see I will need to fire up and old deep freezer to use as a bait container now. When I hauled my bait trap in it was full of bait. Mostly shiners with a few daise and some of the shiners around a dozen of them are at least 6 to 7 inches long. Big fat golden shiners that will make for some great bait for lakers or a giant largemouth.
I am not sure if that part of it will make much of a difference or not. I can mark fish all day long but it will not make em bite. What I am trying to figure out is how big is a large fish when they show up on my fish finder. Is it a fish that is 12 inches or bigger? Or is it a fish that is 18 inches or bigger? That is where I am at with it. I have been marking a lot of fish and quite a few what looks like big fish?? So I need a better understanding of exactly what constitutes a big fish on it..
Can anyone say live bait? I am not sure but my guess is 10 to 12 dozen bait in here..
