Default I Splurged Today

Well, I finally did it. I went to a private dealer (all the local dealers are sold out and will be for some time) and bought the new Quantum Smoke PT casting rod. I wanted to pair the reel with it but couldn't foot the bill today. This rod is something else, lighter than a feather, and the reels are even lighter!

These guides are the biggest on the whole rod (pictures) and the rod is just gorgeous. I bought a Quantum Accurst PT to pair with it and the fit is well.

Can't wait to get her on some fish.

7' 0" Flippin' Stick, Heavy.

The rods are $149.99 and the reels can't be touched for less than $200.00... not quite as expensive as the KVD or Tour Editions from Quantum.

Nice BH14. I dont know if you are a shimano guy or not, but check out the CUrado 200E7. It's a fantastic reel thats very light (atleast to me it is).

The Curado 200E7 isn't too heavy, at 7.6 ounces.

The Quantum Smoke is only 6.2 ounces though!!

Doesn't seem like much, but you can feel the difference.

I've got a Quantum Accurist PT in the mail though, and that is 8.1 ounces, needed the burner.
