It will be a while before I get out there again, and I am sure by that time you and the other fellows will have me crying in the background. This is a private lake that is owned by a sand pit company that gave me exclusive permission to fish there so it shouldnt see a whole lot of fishing activity. However, I have been out there several times and seen other people fishing before they realized i was there at which point they took off running with their equipment. I hate to fish their too much because I always ask for permission before going over there and I hate to wear out my welcome if you know what I mean. I gave the supervisor some venison to try and keep on good terms with him, but I still don't want to push too far asking for permission too many times.

Back to the OP though:

I am on the third day of a warming trend with a high of 74 and a low of approximately 50 degrees. Last week had a low in the 20's. The fish are very active right now, trying to feed up for spawn, and are attacking faster moving baits with tighter actions. I threw a spinnerbait for a while and got nothing until i started to let it sink the the bottom then do a pretty fast steady retrieve. First time I tried the fast and steady retrieve it got nailed. Figuring they were hitting faster moving lures, i tied on a Bill Lewis Rattle trap and nailed the 3+ lb'r. I subsequently lost that lure on a fish, lost a worm, and lost another lure I wont mention. Caught the 4+ lb'r on a tight action lure as well. If they are active and feeding up for pre-spawn, give them something with a nice tight wobble to start off with.

I'm going to try Saddle Creek tomorrow evening..I got permission to take all day Thursday off..If Saddle Creek is on..I'll spend the morning and afternoon there THursday..If not..

Either my Secret Lake I talked about last year..part of Lake Kissemmee which is HOT right now..40 pound stringers of bass recently during some different 5 fish tournaments or back to Lake Parker..

I also need a new bigger battery..{ -;

At Lake Kissimmee, great three days for bass 10 pounds and up in shallow water Friday-Sunday, with remarkable 40.84-pound stringer for Tom Rewis and Doug Chance in Capt. Tony Strickland Memorial Tournament out of Camp Mack Sunday, topped by 10.71-pounder swimming Zoom Ultravibe and Bitter's Vibe worms (watermelon red, blue fleck) and topwater plugs (Devil's Horse). Several bass 10-11 pounds in tournament. Brent Howlett went Friday and released 30-pound stringer up to 9 pounds in five hours casting Flukes and Senkos (black/blue, watermelon red, watermelon) around isolated lily pads and clumps of pads/grass in 4 feet.

we are having a warm spell this week 50-60 degree temp so by the end of the week ice should be off of my pond. i will be throwing senkos, baby brush hogs, zoom trick worms.

and here's the report { last week} that put me on Lake Parker..which is 2 1/2 miles from my house.


Lake Parker can be a sleeper this time of year, and Jimmy Todd and Tom Saxon hit it just right. Todd and Saxon busted out a stringer totaling 27 pounds, 6 ounces, including the day's lunker of 8 pounds, 1 ounce, to dominate the Polk County Bass Anglers tournament on Sunday. Jay Buckley and Jeromie Johnson were a distant second with 14 pounds, 3 ounces. Doug Yutzy and Sean Phelps took third with 12 pounds, 9 ounces.

Sounds like some good stringers but the bass at Weiss Lake usually don't start spawning until April.
