Who all got out fishing today? Here in West Michigan I was able to hit the water about 8:30, flat calm and about 74 degrees.
Three a buzz bait (my first time using one) to begin. My second cast I had a great bass blow it up. Drop the rod tip and set the hook, land a gorgeous 19 inch Largemouth. Managed to land 3 more fish and miss another in the next half hour using the buzz bait.
Wind kicks up slightly, high sun, so I decide to get the PB&J Booyah Jig out and hit some submerged weed flats in about 10-15 FOW. Second cast I spot a nice bass on the prowl and he slams it, buckets up. I managed a few more on the craw immitation and soon switched to my newest addition.
I modified a few of my factory spinner baits by cutting the arm down to about 1.5 inches and a smaller willow. This allows the bait to reach great depths (with water temps reaching high marks Bass are deep here) and can be fished much slower and still maintain the correct force to propel the bait. I fished this on some dropoffs where I had seen good fish previously and landed a few more on charteuse and white.
Overall, I landed about 14 Largemouth Bass and a Northern Pike. I did catch 5 keepers which is always my goal when fishing for a length of over 2 hours. I wouldn't have been able to cull the smallest 14 inch fish that I caught but would have been able to weigh-in around 9 pounds, the biggest being about 3 pounds. Wouldn't have won me a tournament but was great to get on some fish!!
Anyone else make it out fishing today?

Good to hear the fish are cooperating up there..I adjust my spinnerbaits as well...I usually replace the chrome willow with brass{ Gold} willow leaves.I like the 3.5 size. I love the Terminator body the best but ..they are costly..
