New Moon Fishing
I've heard about full moon fishing, but what about fishing the new moon. I cant find very much information on the subject and was wondering if anybody has kept track of how their fishing was on the new moon. I'm not a very heavy believer in the full moon deal, but that could be because I have limited experience fishing it and I have never really paid much attention to it. I'm really just wondering because I will be going fishing this evening for the first time in a few weeks and I noticed that the new moon is tomorrow. Figured I would ask just for the sake of asking.:party0005:

here is a discussion on www.bassresource.com about it

For me...the 3 days before the new moon is the best days of the entire month..I'm a lunar fishermen and beleive in it alot..
However..there are other things that can effect the fishing as well during these times . such as fishing pressure from others, cold fronts...and temperature. |
no fishing pressure, no cold front, and HOT temperatures
Any advice........ :) |
Oh yeah, I'm gonna bring out some live bait to this water for the first time and see what all I can get. Hopefully I can get quite a bit.

http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fis...num=1250390975 yeah, i read that when the topic first started, but I didnt see any mention of new moon, just full moon. Thanks for the helpful link though, I appreciate it. |
I just heard from the BASS PROFESSOR last night say that 82 -85 degrees was the bass's favorite temperature..Many of the pros consider summer time the best time to catch a hog..ALTHOUGH they don't feed as much during this time..It's my understanding that they move out to isolated areas..often using other bass as structure..They tend to choose a smaller bait over bigger baits.
All of this information was taken from Doug Hannon..The Bass Professor who has boated over 800 ten pound bass..Nice fellow too..You can pull him up on youtube |
water temperature or ambient temperature?
|
Water temperature..This man worked at a zoo..very intelligent..
Just as MT and Josh has said..they will bury themselves in hydrilla and eat the small prey..such as crayfish..JIGS..{-: I personally thought that was too hot..but not according to the professioinals..Doug would rather hawg hunt in the summer than the spawn.. WHen I get home I'll post a great video link of DOug explaining this..{ -: |
yea Aaron i was noticing that later lol. but one thing i like to remember is bass dont like alot of sunlight so ive been trying to figure out how that comes into play with a new moon also.
