Canada Fishing Trip 2009 ( pics )
#1
I just got home a few days ago from a week of fishing in Canada, and my first ever trip to Canda. I was with my two friends, Ry and Corey, and their dads and we stayed at Lake Shining Tree Tourist Camp in Shining Tree, which is a small town between Sudbury and Timmons in Ontario. It was a 13 hour drive from our hometown in Pittsburgh, PA.
We caught pike, smallmouth, and walleye. We crushed the pike, however we didnt catch any big ones, all averaging 15-27 inches. Good eating size though. We also crushed the smallmouths, and we caught a lot of big ones. Our biggest bass was 19 inches. The walleye, on the other hand, we had to work for. When we arrived, there was just a mayfly hatching and the walleye feasting on them, therefore being no longer hungry. The ones we caught though, were big and decent size walleye.
We saw 4 black bears, 2 moose, and 12 bald eagles. The scenary alone was unbelieveable. Being in the boat and driving down the deserted roads was incredible, being able to take in the sights of the great Canadian wilderness.
It was an amazing experince and I am so glad that I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to go. I am already looking forward to going again sometime.
Here are a few picsfrom our trip: ( I am in the middle, Corey isleft, Ry is right,in the first picture )
