Hot summer days? Sorry we have not had anyhere.. Just rain, rain, and more rain is all we have been getting.. During our hot summer months when fishing is slow, I look for under water structure that is down deep. I like to just set there and jig off the bottom. Although it is slow once you find where the big fish is at they will bite somewhat. They tend to feel like little fish tapping away at the jig. Just make sure you set the hook at the right time. You can still get some big ones that way up here anyways..

My suggestion would be to take up bluegill fishing since they never seem to slow down. Or find a nice comfortable recliner in the air conditioning.
KSFOWLER..

My plans exactly..

Its drier than a popcorn fart over here. Gangly..

LOL that remark got an outloud chuckle out of me..

May I also suggest using a big umbrella and a fan wired to your trolling motor battery, may make it a lil' more tolerable.

On days when the temps are going to be in the 100+ range, I fish topwater very early in the morning and late in the evening. Usually a Heddon torpedo or a frog. During the middle of the day, try bluegill or catfish, because the bass aren't doing much.

If the temperature gets over the 110+ range, even the bluegill and catfish start slowing.

Going out in 1 hour and 10 minutes with my neigbor ...
My plan..

Well, first when I take someone in the small boat I only take spinning rods..for I don't hook them..I'm taking 2 rods..
Oneis a medium heavy 6 1/2 foot Team Diawa ..Symetric Reel 12 pound Trilene..with Horny Toad...will change to a rubber worm later..Christmas Tree Gambler Ribbon Tail 7 inches...may go toa jig..decisions .decisions.[8D]

Number 2 rod..Garcia Cardinal 104..12 pound test..Trilene with a 6 1/2 foot medium Fenwick..1/2 ounce White/chartrueseTerminator..may switch to 1/8ounce later

Yesterday..the fish were turned off..but I was fishing a new spot..This morning..I'm going to my regular spot..hydrilla islands..drop offs of 15 foot-25 foot...
