...i usually wait 1 second or less and reel..which starts my problems lol.

Yes sir..I used to have a big tank and observe bass..they stay on the bottom nearly all day and swim around all night..THUS the reason why rubber worms are so good..and jigs..SO yes sir,,I fish my rooster near to the bottom as possible. Now during the morning or shpawning I'll fish close to the shore line. The first hour of the day they tend to feed on the shore. Our shad are jumping out of the water along the shore's edge..Diffently some rods fish that lure better.I like a fast action tip as this gets the willow leaf spinning quicker. Talking to you now has me in a hard place..to turkey hunt the last day in a highly pressured WMA 70 miles round trip
OR
Bass and bluegill fish..round trip 8 miles.
my battery is being charged just in case.
I'm 50 - 50 reight now..I love scratching a slate pot..in hopes of a gobbler..I also wanted to try jigging a jig in a 10 foot weedy place I know..

I have that same problem in ponds or any calm water the blade won't spin but at the creek and river the blade spins perfect in the current or eddy and I catch em on it to!

First...a good tip..yesterday was a new moon..
FISH WERE BITING very good today.. boated 8 and saw some nice swirls..All 8 were caught on a Boyou Weedless Spinnerbait...biggest just under 3..

Broke my line on a jig fish..and don't know why..I think it's the rod..MH Lightning rods are too thick compared to others..This same line reeled in a huge gator last week..I saw the fish because after she broke she jumped out of the water to spit the jig..She was 3 pounds maybe..I tie the Palamar knot with a 1/2 inch of line sticking out..confused..
I normally use a pull set ..today I used a quick set as most do with jig fishing..I will not use that rod any more for jigging..Actually I tied the spinner on and it did very well with that set up.

sounds like a planits raining here so no fishin this weekend[&:]what is your take on "fluke"s chuck??I only carry my top shelf lures in my tackle bag..I have flukes in them because some trusted pros I know say they work..I've never had one hit on them..but these pros are good so I will continue to try them ..Jigs are also slow for me but they do work..BUT like this morning..if the fish are biting ..and they certainly was this morning..use a lure where you can cover alot of water fast..I tied on a Boyou White Weedless Spinner 1/4 ounce and it was fun..until the wind went from 0 to 20 pus..Then I would anchor on a weedy island and spin the grass around it..that worked too.

I'm not the best guy for this question for I haven't even caught a fish on them..but most I talked too..hook them like a Texas Worm..the fluke has a built in grove..this is where your hook ends up..You can actually see the barb but it's weedless because it's in the grovve of the rubber..Most around here pinch a BB split shot about 12" above the fluke. So the fluke is twitching and darting on the bottom. SInce the fish were bitin ggood today.. Ishould have tied one on..but the spinner bait was working so I didn't fix it.
I also raise rabbits to produce a good harvest of red worms..Last year I had a few hundred..I took some this morning to look for some red ears..I have 1000s of chunky red worms..I didn't catch any red ears though but the bass were on.Mental note...New moon fishing is HOT

haha i dont use crank baits or top waters mostly because all i have ever gotten is moss or weeds and no fish...but thats what i see people who catch the monsters use....im not sure how big a 1/4oz is but how can a spinner beweedless? haha im glad you had some success, i have never caught a bass over 2lbs in my life[&:]

Same here till I moved to Florida..

If your ever in FLorida look me up..We will get some good bass..I'll hook ya up..A weedless spinner is totally a no brainer..you simply cast and reel it in slow..the blade will turn automatically..It's the easiest lure in the world to fish..If you have weeds and moss a Rooster Tail isn't a good choice anyway..you cast the weedless spinner bait ..let it get toward the bottom and crank it back just fast enough to turn the blade..

ALL Walmarts sell them..they look weird with too much metal but trust me..EVERYONE uses these who fishes for bass..

here's the ones I use..Wa,mart has them for 4.00
Bayou Spinner bait..
http://www.bayoutackle.com/sn_doublewillow.html

I always use a white skirt..

PS ..I adopted a handicapped child..He's alcohol syndrome so he backtalks all the time..He hates fishing..Two years ago I was flipping the shoreline for bass.He watched me boat about 8 small ones..He says" WHy are you fishin here..the big ones are in the middle." He starts casting my spinner bait..and I glanced over my shoulder..He 's got the rod doubled up and fighting a real nice fish..It was 6 1/2 pounds 24 inches..He's beaming..of course the batteies in the camera were dead..

I later talked him into going shiner fishing ..Aaron boated this 7.4..
