2009 Bass Tournament Sign Up..deadline 3-31-09
 

Tournament goes from Feb. 1, 2009- Aug.30, 2009



Rule1.Let me know which you want to be signed up for..north or south..you who vacation feel free to sign up for both
Rule2.Artificial or live bait is legal to use this year..I'm expecting to see lots of horses and hawgs.
Rule 3.We MUST have a date in the picture. Folks..I'm very SORRY but if there is no date in the picture it will not count. My camera does not have that option so I write the date on a plastic white card attached to my hat.
Rule 4. Cut off date for sign up is March 31st..I plan to PM everyone I know to give them a chance to sign up..The more the merrier.
Rule 5..Weigh your fish and postthe weight of the fish.

A ruler is up to the individual..When I start catching serious fish { 7 PLUS}I will have them on a ruler .This is not a rule just a kind gesture to help rid doubt..I've had photos that made my fish look big and some big fish that looked small. a ruler helps with this.

Post as many bass pics as you want..I will continue to update everyone's best two. Onlookers love to look ..so keep them coming..

If you fish alone..as I will alot this year..no need for screen name..just a date.

Chuck, sounds llike great fun. I'd love to watch the results, but we will have ice on the lakes for atleast another 3 months so I better sit it out. I won't be thinking about spawning bass until mid-April! :D

I would assume live bait should be allowed and a date in the picture is a great idea.

Can't wait to see some pictures of some monster spawners, great luck this season C7!

I would be interested again that is for sure..;)I am not sure how much time i will have to fish with a hiring freeze and all that is going on at work. We will see though as I might be out of work during the spawn this year if the market doesn't pick up. We are trying new ideas to try and get some new customers as well so it's anyones game right now. AnywaysI hope to get in some extra fishing time this year.. I think these tourneys are fun to have..

Chuck, NC in the south, no doubt, its always been that way in past tourneys, but lets get her up and running. Im ready to go and try for them and spawn starts next month here.

Date in pic sounds good
How about best two fish, that way a 10 lb fish cant just mop up the tourney.
What about laying the fish on a ruler for size comparison too?

I like the ruler idea..but it has some problems
Problem is..it's very hard to ..
get a 24inch fish completely in the pic..
AND a 24" fish can very from 5 - 18 pounds..
Chreck out the Texas state record..[:-][:-]18 pounds ..25 1/2 inchs
Also..we need to think about the fish I don't like keeping her out too long..sometimes they don't recover..
I'm open to the feedbackby the others..my vote is no ruler..too much time out of the water and too hard to get a 24-26 inch fish on there..Crappie are tough enough.

Some of my ideas:
[ul][*]Largest two fish of the season should be calculated together to get a final weight for the tournament[*]Possibly different species divisions (ie. Largemouth, Smallmouth, Striper?) [Do this because a big Small Mouth will get no recognition aganist a Largemouth??] (just an idea?)[*]Keep the North/South Divisions[*]Date must be in the picture some way or another[*]No need for a ruler IMO, judging Bass weight isn't that difficult and if someone is that hard up to lie for a "Just for fun online tourney", well, let them win. As long as the picture has some sort of object to judge size against you can differentiate a 3 and 5 pound fish.[*]All hook and line techniques (excluding snagging)[*]All bait (live and artificial)[/ul]

but the entry deadline is a bad idea, as a lot of members won't even look at the fishing forum till they start fishing which could be march-may time frame, i understand rules are rules but, you'll be shutting out a lot of people that would love to participate if they had known sooner;)
