yummy...my wife caught one of these a few years back. we were actually bank fising for catfish and lo and behold her cork goes under. she's reeling and yelling "I got something big...goodness gracious...I've got a big one". she pulls it in and sees the snapper and about has a heart attack. I get the hook out and we go back to fishing. When its about time to leave she's still talking about the snapper and how ugly it was and she's still pretty jumpy too. Me, being the gentleman that I am takes the pole and dips it in the water and as she's walking up in the front andcannot see me because I'm walking behind her carrying all the stuff. I ever so lightly touch her arm with the wet pole...SHE almost jumped the 4 1/2 foot fence . (Not bad considering she was about 6 mos pregnant. Lets just say that I didn't sleep much that night, or the night before...come to think of it she still gives me the evil eye whenever we see a turtle

I have been seeing alot of them on the dirt roads laying thier eggs up here. I have never tried them but have heard that out your way they are sold
by the pound like lobsters here. I had heard it from a guy who used to come up here to trap them and then take them back to sell..

yeah the gaotr snappers are huge and mean!!! plus ridiculously strong. they use their tongue as a food catcher. they make it look like a worm and a fish swims in and BAM! it has food.
