what are yall throwing?
 

the usuall things i use and tear up the spawners on are not working when i bring them. im thinking of just going to minnows. maybe its just too early still

the fish arent on the beds yet, but once I locate a few, I start with a plastic crawfishon a leadhead, then a lizard, and finally a bluegill colored plastic on a 6" long leader drop shot rig. I drag the weight right into the center of the bed, and can keep it there for 20 minutes if needed.

they are starting to get on them here. i dont know about wv but they are beginning here in n. ga

Well,for spawning rubber worms or jigs PERIOD..;)
Pretty much just 6 inch rubber worms..Gamblers and Zoom.
Red Shad,
Electric BLue
and other dark colors

Our spawn is over so I'm back to looking for them

i use a 3/8 ounce Rooster Tail ...to study depth , structure and to get reaction.hits.They do mostly catch snall fish but I've boated many between 3- 6 on them.

I also use crank baits..jerk baits and topwater

BUT when things get boring..I'll get a couple dozen shinersand try to catch a 10 for the wall..;)

I fish live bait most of the time, regardless of time of year.

Can't beat live bait..it pretty much a guarantee here..BUT becasue th etourny doesn't allow it.I'll fish artificial 90% of the time..until I get anxious for a monster bass..;)or if company shows up and wants a HAWG NOW!! ..then it's shiners.

I've seen about 10 occupied beds so far but they have all been occupied by dinks (1-2lbs) More power to you live bait fishermen but the only time I'll use live/dead bait is for icefishing and the occasional trip north for walleye and perch. Other than that nothing beats catching a lunker on artificial! As for bed fishing I use the exact same tactics as Josh but I usually start with a lizard just because they have worked the best in the past for me.

yeah i love to catch the hawgs but that is very rare.

I'll be throwing these tomorrow over and in hydrilla patches.

1.Deep water ...Fire tiger crank bait

2.Finding depth and structure aswell as possible reaction hits.Rooster Tail

3.Rapala silver ...in shalow hydrilla

4 & 5 Two worm rods..Zoom and Gambler

6.Strike King Weedless whenit's thick for Rooster
