I usually use Joe Flies spinners and power bait.I bought some
Trout Magnet jigs but have not had a chance to use them yet.
How do you fish your Trout Magnets and do you fish lakes or
streams? Mike

RE: Your favorite trout bait...
The only places i can use bait for trout is in stocked ponds/lakes so pretty much throw anything at them and they will bite. But i find i will out fish everybody on the lake with this jig and a piece of worm on it

~ I like Meal and wax worms
~ Spinners
~ Small Gitzets(jigs)
~Salmon Eggs
-- But if I can only fish one thing, give me a size 14 bait hook and a meal worm with Micro split shot and I can keep ammused!

2" Yo Zuri Pins Minnow in Gold Flame pattern. This has been by far the best trout bait that I have seen to date (better than any live bait). I am suprised more people don't use these lures, but I believe its because of their $7.00 price tag. IMO, they are worth it as I have landed hundreds of trout over 20" with these lures here in the streams of PA. Here are just a few big boys to fall to the Yo Zuri Pins Minnow...

Buck magent you are right.... the Yo-Zuri's are nice but I cringe when I lose a $2 spinner!

Yeah, I learned quick and put 4# Berkley Fireline on my trout rods and have only lost a couple since then. That line is TOUGH, I have pulled in my fair share of water logged tree branches with that line!
I am gonna try some new lures this year, they are a plastic jerkbait that I think will be killer on larger trout. While fishing Yellow Creek here in Indiana PA I ran into Joe Renosky, the owner of Renosky Fishing lures and he let me try a few casts with a new lure that he was testing out. I can't remember the name but it looked alot like a Rapala but it had some amazing shine and after three casts I pulled out a 25" Rainbow!
