Coming back from a ML hunt today I passed a few guys out on some anchor ice jigging for perch. I'll be there in a day or two.

IN my freezer

I haven't been out yet but, we have had some pretty darn cold temps up here. So we must have some decent amount of Ice in places now..

The guns are oiled and the hunting gear is put away. My buddy just called and we are going to try for some sunnies and gills tomorrow. He just got 2000 spikes (maggots) in the mail and will split with me to get our season underway. Got to put some new line on my panfish rigs, get out the sled, 7 gallon buckets,chisle, auger, creepersand all the other things I need.

Lucky... we have a thin sheet... with some snow on top. It will be Christmas before I get my chances.

I am kind of bummed out. My fishing partner and I went to 3 of our favorite shallow bays that has ice and it wasn't good enough to fish on. We got some snow just at the time the ice was catching and it prevented good ice from forming. I looked on my past diarys and the week of the 20th is usually when we start so I will wait a few days and try again.

Got plenty of ice here in MN(7"-11"), The recent snow storms have had some effect on the ice, but over all, we got good ice. I'm heading out tonight to try my luck on some eyes.... not trying to rub it in...well, maybe a little.
