biggest bass to date was on a bobber and crawler, 23". second largest was on a white plastic tube which is my preference along with hula poppers.

I can tell you with confidence that plastic worms have caught more bass than any other lure on the market. That being said they aren't good at keeping the little ones off your hook unless you up to a 10inch worm and even those will get hits from bass under a 1lb

For live bait I like to use Shiners, for lures I like top water lures, or a weedless frog lures. Throw them on top of a lilypad and then hop them off. The bass will explode up out of the water to nail them.

Plastic worm[any size]texas rigged,Yamamoto senko worm wacky rigged,Banjo minnow,Crappie tube jig with crappie nibbles on the hook,and Rapala Shad Rap[Bluegill pattern].

Rubber worms or Wild Shiners

I use Gambler or Zoom rubber worms. dark colors...light bullet sinker.
