how many of yall love to go catfishin, here in western pa we just had a catfish tournament and it was pretty sweet, its an annual tournament that hosts teams of two for 40 bucks a team, this year they had 58 teams and first place tok home $1,390, we didnt win it but had a good showing maybe somewhere around tenth, I dont know if it is just this summer or what but there has been a huge boom in catfishin this year, has anyone noticed this thing in their area??

I fish the mighty James River in Central VA and we've pulled some MONSTER blues out of there. Went out 3 times in the last couple weeks, 1 river, 1 lake, & 1 farm pond and caught some nice channel cats. Kept a 5 lb'er and a 16 lber, fillet'd them, and had some good eats.

Down here in SC, it is about as popular as breathing. Nearly all of our rivers and lakes are now producing 70 to 100lb. blues and nearly that in flatheads. Our tackle is starting to resemble marlin gear!

Yea there is no fight like the fight of a big cat on the end of your hook. I love fishing for crappie and whitebass but they just dont do it for me when it comes to a fight even with a ultra light combo. Thats what makes catfishing so great they are always fighting or if they dont want to fight they still make you work when you must drag them across the bottom of the lake lol
