I agree you should still be proud of your first Lake trout. Ive caught hundreds of Lake trout trying to catch a big one.

I caught it on a spoon

im definitely happy with it. the meat wasgood too.orange andalmost as tastey as a brook trout. I got mine on a gold syclops lure.

Yea, but the unfortunate part of that is that I had to get A "replica" which most say look very good but i would have preferred the real skin. However the taxidermist said they do not make the foam for the skin on trout that big due to the amount of oil that they contain. I guess they leak really bad so.. well i couldnt find a taxidermist that would do the actual skin so replica it was and now we eat.

I am sorry to here that, they couldn't press a mold over it and go from there? I think it would of been nice on the wall..
