I got this baby about 7:15 this morning.
6.12 pounds...note the date is on my hat..She was the same place I caught the 5 1/2 last Friday,.After 9:00 it was dead out there. Christmas Tree Gambler worms were hot. Texas rig.. ![]() |
RE: July ...Southern Division
I didn't read this post nor looked at it. I read your post in the bottom section. I have to ask a few questions here before I say a beautiful bass.
Are you holding the fish out to make it look bigger? How do we know you don't have the scale hooked to the bottom of your boat? Is that really you in the picture? Is that a copy and paste job down in microsoft paint or picture? Just kidding, That is a beautiful looking bass. Here in the east them are trophy size bass considering 2 to 3 lbs are average here and catching anything above 5 is a monster. I am getting ready to head out and try my luck at some whiskers and this afternoon me and my cos will hook up for some bass. Again congrats and good job. |
RE: July ...semi finals
1 lb 1 oz.. its a start, and i caught a few up to 2 lbs yesterday, but didnt even think to take pics. I actually left the 3000 lb bass boat home, and used a canoe my friend and i carried one with 1 arm. definitely a nice change.

My total weight now is at at 8 pounds .This bass was 1 1/4 pounds.

I really don't think it is necessary to have th whole month and year somewhere in the picture... if you really want to cheat to win some tournament that doesn't mean anything then fine by me! On other note I will be lucky to have one fish for july because I don't have time to fish so I pretty much forfeit.

Indiana Sorry to hear that Indiana. I wished you would have said something earlier. Josh has been very flexable with the rules and dates. I hope you like your new place where you have moved . Hunting season will be here before you know it.;) God bless, C7 |

RE: July ...semi finals
I am sorry to here that also, but please realize it is all in fun my friend.. Amen Phil..I actually hope Buffdmac beats me.. I'm taking him out twice to Lake Fish Hook.Like what would the chances of me getting a big large mouth bass that would tip the scales up here?Up here it is mostly small mouths and any over the 5lb. mark is a trophy fish, and only 1 lake here with large mouths and the biggest to date has been 1 10lbs. So when you can just get out and enjoy it.. Amen...The extreme opposite happens to me during hunting season. Some of you guys see alot of deer. I saw one doe from my stand last year...and she busted me..
And...I hunt alot. |
RE: July ...semi finals

Yeah..the way Josh is holding the mouth it does look like a largemouth..but the scales look like smallmouth. Good eatting size.;) |
RE: July ...semi finals
2 lb 5 oz
3 lb 6 oz total |
RE: July ...semi finals
Almost Heaven ..West Virginia,:)
Looks gorgeous up there...deer country. |
RE: July ...semi finals
I'm out... I'd rather my fish live a happy healthy life
|
RE: July ...semi finals
The date rule was not mine ..but Josh. We all read the rules when we started. I only checked in your 4 pounder.
C7 |
RE: July ...semi finals
so i have the option of letting the fish die on the bank while i go back to my house and get a piece of paper for some stupid rule or release said fish who isn't even that big on the thought that the people on this site are sane enough to make the correct choice. If the latter isn't correct then just don't count my first one either because I'm out... I'd rather get the fish in as quickly as possible then dick around with a piece of paper.
|
RE: July ...semi finals
indy83,
maybe you can come up with some better rules next year. All I know is ..the rules were posted..We all agreed . They should be enforced or there is no sense having rules. For me...I have my stuff all ready so the fish can be released as quickly as possible. The date is on my hat, I have the photo taken and then weigh and release,, Chuck7 |
RE: July ...semi finals
So If I had wanted to I could have just taken pictures of myself in May holding bass with a piece of paper saying it was July? Seriously if you think this rule is that important you can keep the tournament and win because no one from the North is taking part. Congrats... I'm done.
I also just read over the rules and it looks like your fish don't count either! Because all pictures must have your forum name somewhere in the picture I believe that your entries are just as invalid as mine and as a man that loves to follow rules (no matter how dumb they are) to the extremes then I guess you must throw out all the fish you caught for the semi's. Sorry bud but rules are rules. |
RE: July ...semi finals
"Seriously if you think this rule is that important you can keep the tournament and win because no one from the North is taking part. Congrats... I'm done. "
Indy... How do you know what the other 3 guys are doing from the north.?.Sorry you feel so bad Indy. Concerning your accusation about me not having my name in my photo...YOu only need a name if you are not in th epicture. You may want to reread the rule.. You do NOT need to be in the picture, but if your not, the fish must be laying on a measuring board/stick/tape in the picture, and your user name must be in the picture somehow (recommended that you bring a peice of paper/marker)Josh C7 |
RE: July ...semi finals
I'm still out... unless you can recognize a dumb rule if you see one then I really don't feel like putting the effort into this. And others from the North have already stated they aren't going to fish until august. Sorry you feel like you have to be the rule nazi but I have never followed rules that were so obviously stupid and I refuse to start. Might as well make a rule stating your ding-a-ling must be hanging out in all pictures just to prove it is a real picture. I still think its funny you take a picture of the scale trying to prove your bass weighs what you say it weighs. A) you can't read it, B) its not like we wouldn't of taken your word for it, C) you just spent a minute of time keeping that fish out of water in hot florida weather. It may swim away from the boat but that stress you put on it might still kill it. If anything think about the fishery you so luckily get to utilize and remember that you aren't the only one who gets to fish there and they would appreciate it if you were a bit faster at the release instead of worrying about following rules. I'm done arguing this topic say what you want if you are going to act silly about a online tournament that is just for fun then I'm going to fish and not worry about following every rule or fishing with a post it stuck to my head.

Phil Nice fish Phil..and beautiful scenery. You didn't need a name tag anyway if you are in the picture..Thanks for getting that date in there. Well, I reckon I'll be spending the first 2 weeks of August trying to put some bass on here. ;) |
RE: July ...semi finals
Hang on cause normally August is the best month for bass fishing up here. The water is generally warmer during August! IfI have those largemouths figured out up here I may not beat you but, you may have a job on your hands to keep ahead ....:D:D

Phil That is why Josh thought it would be fair..the south slows down alot this time of the year. |

Chuck I honestly did not know that Chuck, soI am surprised to say the least.I have saw a few pics in the past of those giant bass that looked like they ate a basket ball in the mags. I thought that you maybe posting some like that or something. I still think you will show me up though.. Good luck in August.. |
RE: July ...semi finals
Phil,
If one used shiners..you can catch hawgs all year round down here. SInce you don't have the hawgs like we do in Florida I'd figure I'd just use artificail in August.. I'm going to have to fish better that's all.;)Our best summer time lure Phil is slowly drifting a Carolina worm rig or jig in deep cover..That's our best bet. |
RE: July ...semi finals

Hey Chuck, You are welcomed to use anything you want to use on them IMO. I am going to use whatever I want so, shouldn't you, besides we all like seeing those big hawgs you have been posting for us... Also I do not know for sure how it will go but, if any luck is on my side do not be surprized to see 1 or 2 in the 6 pound range... We sometimes catch those big ones fishing for white perch when we least expect it.. |
RE: July ...semi finals
I vote he uses artificials as everyone else has used just artificials... and the whole bit about the bite being best in august up north only works for New England and other canadian borders. Any further south and the 90+ degree weather stops all bites. You just have to be able to change how you fish and only fish early or late in the day if possible.

RE: July ...semi finals
indianahunter83,
You have a PM to read. Thank you...... |
RE: July ...semi finals
Christine,
I read it and found it funny. If chuck thinks I am trying to take him down he is wrong. I just thought it would be most fair if he fished like Phil does... With artificials only. Only way it would be fair as a 6lb bass in Maine is like a 14lb bass in Florida.Yes Chuck and I disagree about how stupid some of the rules are of our self made tournament but I'm not going to hate him for it or anything. That would be a pointless waste of my time. A) I don't know chuck other than the fact he is a god loving man from florida B) this tournament is for nothing but bragging rights over a forum there is a good chance I won't be part of in a year (no time) C) as I stated in my email back to you all you have to do is go to any other forum in this place and you will see arguments. You are also way off base on why I quit. I didn't quit because of lack of time to fish. I would of had atleast 1 weekend to fish which would of gotten me a respectable 10lbs worth fo bass pretty easily. I quit because I did not feel it was in the best interest of the bass to be held out of water that long. I want my fisheries to stay as healthy as I can and having bass out of water in 90 degree weather is a sure fire way to cripple it. |

Any further communication will be done via email. As per board rules your issue will not be discussed on the open board. Further more, if you have no plans on being a board member in the future and just want to cause trouble.... then leave now. There has been little if any trouble on this particular forum since it was put in place....it is not going to start now. Just an FYI........
