OK ...I'm trying out a brand new lake this morning...if the weather is good..
#1 A rooster tail on a spinning rod.
Why? finds fish quick and I use it as a depth finder / and structure finder.
There are so many things ro do with a rooster tail 3/8th ounce spinner.
a. Use it as a countdown depth finder 1000 1 2000 2 3000 3 etc.
b. If fish are chasing fish on the top..Rooster is about 90% guarantee
c. With a high speed retrieve reel you can slowly fish it just above weeds.
like a buzz bait
d. When fish refuse to bite I fish it right off the bottom ..always fish it slow but you must keep that blade turning.
#2 While I'm spinning I'll drift a 6 inch rubber worm Carolina style.behind me with another rod...a 7 foot Team Diawa.I keep the rod on my knee for I can detect hits.
#3 I'll also have a blue / clear Shad Rap rod ready to go....6 foot Lightening rod
#4 If there is good shore line structure I will pitch a Texas rig worm as well...1/8th ounce bullet sinker.
These are my top summer time lures/ techniques
