You are supposed to contact humminbird and they will swap out your transom mount trasducer for a trolling motor transducer for free. There are specific transducers made for the trolling motor.

chuck, i am assuming you are talking about on the trolling motor?
here is what i used to do and what i do now
i used to use a large hose clamp, well i like to fish in timbered up areas alot and i kept tearing up tansducers, at like 40-70$ a piece[:@]
now i use nothing but tie wraps, if i tear the tansducer off, i simple pull the TM up and put on a couple of new ties, for me it is the cheapest and most time efficiant thing to do
, i'll try to do some pics but i am very busy as it is haying time here

Thanks for replying MT..listen ..if you and your wife plan ot come ot Lakeland..you guys can take out my boat..give me 30 days in advance ot make you a reservation for Fish Hook...
Here's the way I hooked up mine.
I drilles and bolted a piece of pressure treated into the trolling motor shield..and then screwed the transducer to the wood. working good so far..
See where I also drilled another hole to run a tie down.I also wrapped electrical tape to keep the transducer cable out of the way.

yep goherd is dead on, the tolling motor transducers mount a whole lot more flush, the only thing i didn't care for was when i used a hose clamp i tore up a lot of transducers, if your fishing "clean water" then its probably no big deal, the trash i fish i need something, well cheaper
, now with a couple of good tie wraps, if itear it off no big deal, as i always keep spares in the boat

i run through some rough stuff (trolling motor is only a year old.[:@]) and i've never had a problem with it - i've had to pull up the motor and straighten it out before though.

Thanks for responding frineds,
