the scientific angle
"a non native fish introduced into the untited states in the 1800;s, the common carp has been a bane of bass fisherman and biologists alike as they have spread to almost every major watershed in the country and many in the lower canada. their diet of fish eff and there talent of pushing their snouts through silt substrates, gives just a small indication of their impact on lakes/rivers. exceptionallly hardy and tolerant of extreme weather temperatures,carp can live in virtually any type of water, inluding ditches and flooded farm fields. a single female can produce up to 1 million eggs in a season.
the average size of an adult carp ranges from 5-10 pounds and up to 30 depending on the strain and watershed conditions.

so bass fisherman if you ever see a crazy man on the water with a bow tell them where the carp are
