Here is a blue a buddy and I caught a couple weekends ago while noodling on the Cimarron River. We didn't weigh him, but figured him to be around 25-30 lbs, biggest of the year. Since it is illegal to keep Blues in Oklahoma while noodling, we threw him back after the pic was taken.

Let meget this right. You wade around in dirty water and reach down under the water and grope around tree stumps and holes in the bank andpull a catfish out of the mud!!! No thanks. I like mine at the end of a rod. What happens if you grab a snapping turtle or a water snake? If you did it by noodling then you are the man...crazy if you ask me.

No, I didn't catch him out of the mud, I caught him out of sand rock. At this particular place in the river there are large sand rocks that the cats burrow under and make their nests. They can be pretty deep and large. We do have other places where we fish car bodies, brush piles, and undercut banks, but this fish came out of rocks. The only time you really have to worry about snakes is in the brush piles. Trust me, I hate them worse than anyone out there. Noodling is so much fun and such a rush, it outweighs all the negative and dangerous aspects of it.

Nice cat,but I just dont know if sticking my arm in that big catfishes mouth is a good ideal. But thats just me

nice fish this is a 20 lbfish i cought on a rod to help give you an idea on how big yours is. Could you maybe send me a PM with some tips on how to noodle and on where to go. I have always wanted to do it but dont know anyone that knows how.

Can't a large snapper bite your hand off? That would be what stops me. I imagine it is a rush but man what a dangerous way to fish. I bet all the old time noodlers are missing some fingers.
