Should have had the camera...
#1
I went out for alittle warm water action on friday and had a heck of a day. I got on the water at 8am and didnt get off tell 10pm. I was after gills and did vary well early in the am on the old rubber spider and fly rod. I had 6 BIG GILLSin the basket by 9:30 and already landed a few good bass on the same rig. I realized how long of a day it was going to be and let all the gills go, Ihoped I could catch more that afternoon, I was wrong.I caught abunch more of them but none as big as the first ones so I let them all go.Man do those fish fight.
Well I started fishing a big bass popper and tore them up. I landed 2 smalliesthat were around3 lbs and alot in the 1-2lb range. I even got a few large mouths to rise for the popper. I should have chargedmy camera the night before, ow well it was still fun.
So far I have fished 3 days in a row, fri-bass/gills, sat-trout on theriver, sun-lake trout on the big lake, and todayI hope to get back to the river after work. Life is good, good thing the girl understands how hard it is to be a fisherman in the spring.
