What is the max horsepower rated for the motor? Keep it in the top 25% of that rating. As for a trolling motor, if your planning on making decks and everything for the boat, I'd go with a 54 lb of thrust.

It's been a while ..but I think it's Eden Mill Pond in Harford County ,Maryland. On opening day it's elbow to elbow.

If your going to be fishing on small lakes just buy a 6-10 horse out board.
