ADD,
I usually stick with name brand stuff I know works. Walmart has a nice 57.00 real in most of their display cases . I have 3. It is the Zebco Quantum baitcaster. It is gray.
High speed retrieve.
4 year now and still no problems
medium to long cast
Feels smooth and solid.
has bearings not a graphite sleeve
Model 1310 MGC
Another great choice is the Garcia 5000 $60.00
Cast a little farther

If i was you i would look into something differen, if you do any amount of fishing you will probally wear that reel out in a year....my choice would either be a shimano ora diawa reel, there a little more costly but they hold up a hell of alot better.
just my 2 cents

Check out the Abu Garcia 4600 and 5600 C3 reels. 50 or 60 bucks, and they are very rugged and dependable. On a side note, my 4600 C3 was just rebuilt because of drag issues, and will be getting rebuilt again for other problems. I think im just going to can it after this season. rebuilding only costs me 10 bucks anyways...that said, we have around 2 dozen Abu Garcias for mainly muskie, but i have a couple for bass and they're some of the best i've got when it comes to durability. They are not as smooth as my nicer reels like the Pflueger President, but they get the job done.

It mostly depends on how much you fish. Once or twice a month any of those Walmart reels will last a while. But if you fish like I do they wont last a year. I bought a shimano Calyx from Walmart back in the srping about 60 to 70 bucks cant remember exaclty but its now out of service . I used it about 5 days a week. The worm gear started to freeze up piling all the line in one spot. Then finally just quit all togetther. The moral is if you fish alot. Spend as much as you can afford on a reel, and stay away from Wal-Mart. Diawa and Shimano make some reels specifically for them and dont even feature those on their website. Go with the name brands cuz when it comes to baitcasters ya get what ya pay for.
