Default Outboard Motor question

Yardsale today:

3.5 horse Mercury motor -- $250
6 or 7 horse Mercury motor -- $350

Both are around 15 yrs old or so.

Should I buy one? Buy both and sell one on ebay?

Default RE: Outboard Motor question

It would be nice if you could try them out on a lake. I have an older one that starts great. However; I warned the buyer ater it runs for 15 minutes it will shut off because of a bad coil. He bought it though because it was a collector's item. Jim, outboards are very expensive to get work on. Make sure they run good. I personally would have to know the man /woman really good or clamp them on a boat and try it out.
