There are lots of arguments both ways. I've heard stories about 870's giving problems and probably just as many about the nova's. Another thing to consider is that there are probably at least 10 times the amount of 870's than nova's, this could mean there are about 10 times the amount of problems with nova's than 870's. Just my opinion and my redneck ignorance, but the 870 will give you more reliable usage and less problems than a nova.

I don't even know a person that has a Nova, and I know alot of shooters. But know 20 or so people with an 870. Shoot, your not a gun enthusist if you don't have have at least a 30-06 or a 270, and an old 870. Those are requirement.:D
