Even though my .270 would cover 100% of my whitetail needs, I always seem to reach for the 30-30 when I head for the deer woods. I don't think a better whitetail tool was ever invented for the kind of woods I hunt in. If I lived just a couple 100 miles west of here, I would probably be using the .270 most of the time, but in the woods around here the 30-30 is king.
I guess I am just an old fashioned, practical guy.
