Default best semi auto rifle

Whats better a browning bar or a remingtion 7400. Thinking about 7mm or .30-06. the browning is $988 the remingtion is $624.

other ideas welcome please give price too.

prime there is NO comparison. The BAR/Long-Short Trac guns are LIGHTYEARS ahead of the 7400. Do yourself a favor and hold and scrutinize both. As much difference as you will see and feel while at the counter, you will only see that gap widen that much more when you shoot both of them!

BTW those prices you quoted are SKYHIGH. On our shelves right now are a BAR Lightweight Stalker 300WSM for $749.99 and we have the new LongTrac in 7mm and 270 for $799.99 each! Look or call around, you can get much cheaper prices than you quoted.

Good luck,
RA

The Bar is the better semi in my opinion . But those prices are way out of line as others have said .

The BAR is hands down the better gun but also more expensive.

And by all means look around and find a better price on those guns. Either one can be had for waaaaaaay less than the prices you list. Waaaaaaaaaaay less!

i have a house full of both in several cals. The only reason i have the rem autos is they were free, the only way i would hunt with a rem auto is it would have to be the only gun i had.I have four bars now a new 270 in the stalker edition,a o6,243,and 7mm.I have only shot the 06,and 270 and i like them alot. The 270 cost $ 730. and i got a free box of win bullets with it plus they put on mounts and mounted my scope .After i shot several boxes of shells and got the gun broke in it will stack bullets when i shoot from a vise rest. But it shot good right from the start.
