How good is this rifle.I hunt where there are more woods then open fields do you recommend it.

welcome mountain man, i owned a blr in 243 it was a lot of fun to shoot, and was fairley accurate, the only down side to this guns is the trigger is not the best in the world. mine never was that big a deal because i bought the gun for fun and not bench shooting. best of luck

i don't know if your deer hunting or not but i would pick a little larger cal. if thats the case
