Ithica?

My dads got an Ithica 12G that he dosnt shoot anymore and he said Its mine if I want it. I'm not sure what model, the only thing I know is its a "light" model. Can anybody give me any insight on any Ithica "light" models and how they shoot? Thanks a mill

I just remembered somthing about the gun, on the left side of the chamber there was a scene of flying ducks lined with gold. Dont know if this will help but its worth a shot

GCKid,

It's probably an older Model 37, Featherlight deerslayer.

Excellent slug-gun for deer. Absolutely excellent, and the probably the lightest gun you'll find to this day on the market.

So it wouldnt be great for upland bird hunting? And if its realy light wont it kick pretty hard then?

Sounds like a winner. My dad gave me his this yr , if its an older model the barrel is smoothbore , like mine , if newer should have a rifled barrel if its a deerslayer. Great gun from what I can tell , I use my H&R for deer , but take this occasionaly for small game. Very light for a 12ga , hence featherlight. Everyone I've spoken to about it says its a quality made firearm. Brand new one will run ya around 700 -800

Slugs are a beast out of this gun given the light weight ...my dad tryed the jacked up winchesters and his thumbnail cut his nose from thr recoil

If its a pump, its a model 37 and a keeper. IMHO, its the finest pump gun made.
