RE: Ithica?

They are great guns in my opinion. I am using one that I purchased over 20 years ago and I fitted it this year with a Hastings Cantalever Barrel and scope. I was fortuninate enough to take a buck with it yesterday! It has always performed flawlessly for me. I also took a nice 20 lb Gobbler this spring with it using its 28" Barrel.

They are light and make sure you have a good hold of it when you shoot it! They kick pretty good, especially when using slugs.

I have used it, and it just isn't my cup of tea. I had a BPS when I was younger and traded it for the same reason I don't care for the 37( bottom loading). I'm not saying it is a inferior gun. I know they are very popular and very dependable. Just not what I look for in a pump.

Once you get it from your dad , and USE it , you'll understand. Has to be one of the finest pump guns made.
I agree and like others have said, It kicks like a mule. But most of all, it's the centiment of the good old days and hunts gone by.[X(]
