I bought me a new Ruger M77 Mark II All-Weather 270win with a VX I 3x9-40mm Leupold scope and I went ahead and bought 2 boxes of the remington core-lokt 150g 270win bullets. I was wondering if this is a good bullet for this type of gun or is there anything else that I should look in to? Thanks.

My Ruger likes the 130 core-loks, I've heard some good things about Hornaday SST's as well. My suggestion is to try at least two different bullet weights/styles/brands. you will notice which one groups the best out of your rifle. I think you should be very happy with that set up.

Good choice of gun, and good choice of ammo. But, about the ammo, it really depends
a lot on what you'll be hunting, and the terrain (open vs. wooded/close in, etc.). Each rifle is different too. Some, like my .270, like the Rem.150gr. ammo, and I get good
accuracy with it. Hopefully, your rifle will "like" it too, but don't be dismayed if it doesn't.
You may need to try several different bullet weights, and brands of ammo to find the one that YOUR rifle likes best. Good luck.

I have the same exact gun and scope, and my rifle loves Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips in 130 grain. Under one inch groups, though I did free float the barrel and have the trigger reworked down to 3 pounds pull. She is a tack driver!

HeadHunter4 & WriterBob,
My wife has the same gun with a Leupold Vari X-II 4x12x40mm scope. We have shot just about every combination of factory ammo in her rifle. Her rifle shoots 130 grain Winchester Ballistic silvertip ammo the best. Her groups average between 3/4 to 1".
I think you are going to like your new rifle.
