Default Tikka or Ruger M77

I really like the look of both of these guns, but am jsut wondering on which one you thought was the better buy. If i bought the Tikka it would be The Laminated Stainless Stell in .243, and if i bought the Ruger it would be the All Weather in .243. Just wndering on what one you thought would be better. Also how much does the ruger weight?

Thanks,
Steve

You can probably find the weight of the Ruger on www.ruger.com. As far as which one I would go with, Ruger hands down. I don't like the Tikka one size fits all action, the plastic parts or the way it fits. Rugers are built like tanks. I have three of them and they will survive pretty much any use I have for them and they shoot very well too. Another plus is they are made here in the USA.

It would have to be the Ruger.
Just a better rifle in my own opinion.

Easy question to answer Ruger all the way. Tikka's are nice with good triggers. Except for Ruger's triggers there is no comparsion.

Definately the Ruger. I have had my M77 (25-06) for 23 years without a problem. Accurite & dependable, can you ask for anything more?

Good Luck

I have owned Rugers in various calibers and I have owned two Tikka White Tail Hunters with composite stocks. If one of your primary desires is to have great accuracy, out of the box, the Tikka White Tail model or higher, is the way to go. I do not like the T3, as I believe that Tikka sacrificed too much in quality to get the price down.
If money is no object, the SAKO can't be beat for accuracy and reliability.

Yellowstone or Alaskan wilderness hunt the Ruger wins hands down. No more rugged gun exists . For any other use the Tikka would win
