Default 44 Mag Vs 41 Mag

Like the differance between the 40 S&W to the 45 Acp

There knock down power is compareable but the 40 S&W has less recoil .

So I am thinking it would be the same for 44 Mag and the 41 Mag.

So what are your views on this Subject ????????????

I'm retro on this. Large, lead semi wadcutter at moderate velocity. No such thing as too big a biscuit.

Unless you're a plain clothes detective by trade.

I would go with the 44 mag only because there is so much more loading data and factory loads over the 41.
The 41 mag in many factory loads beat the 44 mag

I would say get a 44 mag because you can also shoot 44 specials for plinking, as with a 41 mag you would be shooting mag loads only.

The 41 mag is a fine cartridge. No comparison to the 44 mag. Like mentioned allot of different loads and load data are available.

44 Mag all the way, I think is a little more versatile caliber and with the plus of shooting 44 special.

This is my personal favorite in the Shooting range and in the field.

i've got a S&W in 41 mag. i love the gun would not get rid of it for anything, but go to anywhere besides a gun dealer and tell them you need a box of 41 mags, they'll do that thing with there head like a dog does when you make a strange noise, if i were doing it over i would go with a 44, for the reasons mentioned above

I would go with the 44 mag. I used to carry a 41 mag Taurus TI tracker 4" but switched to a 4" S&W 629. I can't really add anything here, everything has been said. More versatile 44spc-44mag, better ammo selection, more powerfull, the list just goes on and on....Simply put they are both great handgun rounds and are very good for thier intended applications. When it comes to thin skinned game like deer or bear either are about the same as far as effectiveness. The 44 does hold an edge when it comes to bigger game, mainly due to its better selection of premium bullets.

I like a semi auto pistol. My dads 40 S&W is really nice. With an auto you can re-load faster. But I guess you arent in a big hurry to re-load. I think it is a big caliber.
