Default remington 597 magnum...17hmr....anygood?

i just bought a remington 597 mag 17hmr and was wondering how it holds up,,,,,,i know it wont have the tight grups of the bolt actions but im a south paw and i dont care for the bolt actions anyway....any ideas would be great,,,,,,thanks

the only thing i will be useing this for is squirrel and wood chuck,,,,how good is it??????

Honestly you screwed up with the 597. Worst piece of junk out right now with the exception of the Remington 710. You would have been much better off converting a Ruger.

Just out of curiosity, if it is the worst piece of junk out there, then it must have a whole bunch of very serious defects, because I have seen some really bad stuff out there. What are all of the defects?

I bought one a couple of years ago because of the rave reviews it was getting. Biggest piece of crap I ever wasted my money on. It is extremely accurate but to get it to feed a full magazine of rounds is like trying to pull teeth from a lion.

Not to mention the trigger is terrible. I took mine apart and I swear they used ballpoint pen springs and plastic.

I have a 597 in a .22 wmr it is piece of s##t. i should have gotten the ruger. it does shoot good groups but you shoot 3 or 4 rounds and it jams.
