RE: Rem. 700 BDL accuracy ?

3" out of the box with coreloks would about right for a 700BDL.
, Thats bunk! Off hand with a new rifle and open sights, maybe. I own a boat load of Model 700's and have NEVER shot a 3" group off the bench with factory ammo. I shoot Leupold scopes/mounts on all of them and they'll all shoot 1 1/2" or better groups with factory. After working a handload, they are capable of a jagged hole off the bench at 100 yards. When looking for a new rifle, if given a choice, I'll always take the Remington.

I'll second the "that's bunk". Guy must have bad luck when it come to buying guns or he just plain cant shot. I'll opt for the the second!!!!

I have nothing but Remingtons and they all shot great. My 7mm Mag will put 3 shots under a dime at a 100 yards.

And yes I can shoot. Series high shooter in boot camp. Range high shooter almost every time I went to the range(14 consective experts). Intermial shooting team for the USMC.

Did you try shooting it with the loads that you tried before the trigger and bedding work?

archerygraham, thats pretty well standard operation for all my 700's for the past 10 years. Don't let anyone on here tell you different. Your going to hear alot of BS on here, you just got to sift thru it. But just go to the local range and watch other peoples targets, then after they take down there targets, ask them how it shoots. Since I moved to MD, the rule seems to be half that what they really shot, or the best group that day. I have proved it time and time again. Maybe I am a pestimistic, but my rule is tell the worst 5 shot group of the day. Then when I go to the range and it shoots well all groups, its a nice surprise.

I adjust my own Remington triggers and have never had to glass bed or float the barrel on any of my many 700 BDL rifles. I never had one so far that would not shoot 1 1/2 inch with any decent loads. The pressure point on the forend has always worked well. I sometimes add a little more pressure on the pressure pint. I have had about a dozen BDL's and as many ADL's. Glad you got yours shooting well. I sold guns for tweny years and I very seldom had a complaint from a customer on Remington rifles. I sold mostly Remington and Savage rifles and Ruger pistols and revolvers. Many Many scopes as well. Good hunting!!

My nephew just sighted in his Rem 700 SS 300 ultra mag and .75 groups at 100 yards today. Call me crazy but sounds like big green does it again

I've got the same gun and I'm getting the same results with the 180gr. Remington loads, I've got some of the new Federal ammo that I will be trying out before deer season.
