Ok, I have been looking at the WSM's for some time now. I can't make up my mind the caliber I want. Tried to search the forums for feedback on them. I didn't really find what I was looking for so, let's hear it.
If you own a WSM in either 270, 7mm, or 300 mag, let me know what you think about it. All info +/- welcome.
Thanks ahead of time.

After hours of research and thought on this I went with the 270 wsm as well. Best thing I ever did, but many factors affected my choice. I hunt in Saskatchwan where there is alot of open prairie and want a gun that has a nice flat tradgectory and excellent ballistics. The gun will only be used for deer which also affected my decision. Because of my circumstance the 270 wsm was the way to go.
Cheers !!

I just went through this and went with the .300 .. It will do everything the others will do and is more versitile. It shoots faster, flatter and hits's harder.. Granted you don't need it to kill deer but the deer will never complain ..Bill

For deer/goat/sheep and maybe an elk in the future the 270wsm works fine. Federal has premium loads for all the wsm's. If your hunting elk/deer/moose each year the 300 is what i would choose. If you never plan on hunting anything bigger than deer there's no reason to shoot a 300 mag and have the extra recoil when the 270wsm is an awsome medium game cartridge.

I just bought the .300 in a Browning SS, I have other mags but I wanted one in a short light package .. That is the only advantage I can see .. They do say the short fat cases provide better accuracy but that is like splitting hairs .. Bill

If you want a handier, lighter, short action big mag yes, they offer an advantage. The velocities difrences for the 300 and 7 mag arent enough to make any difrence. The 270 realy shines IMHO in the shortmags but I also like the 300. The 270wsm and 300wsm are a commercial success and ammo should be easy to come bye for a long time coming.
