I'm considering the purchase of a H&R Ultra Slug Hunter/20ga and
wanted to know of any + or - experience anyone has had with this
weapon. From what I understand it is an extremely accurate shotgun
that can put an impressive group together at 100yds.
Any infor would be greatly appreciated.

I too have one in the 12 gauge version. I am very pleased with it.
Very accurate. Lightfields grouped the best, but it also handled other fodder very well.
I don't know what the weight is on the twenty gauge. The Twelve with that bull barrel is obviously heavy. Not a problem if you are going to sit in one place. I wouldn't want to carry it long distances though.

Thanks for the feed back. Appreciate everyones opinion on the H&R and the info on what rounds they use. Sounds like it is as good a gun as my friend told me. Guess I'll have to add that to the "must have" list for next hunting season!
Tks again...

Yeah, $250 sounds about right. That is the price I'm finding here in MD. From what our local gun shop told me that includes the scope mount. Believe it might need to be a certain style/type due to the hammer on the gun.

any scope will do , there is a hammer extension that comes with the gun. Moves it either out to the left or right due to the hammer being right under the scope. Great gun ....didnt even take my rifle to PA with me this yr , used the H&R
