I am thinking about building a 1911 in .460 Rowland sometime next spring. The frame will probably be from Caspian Arms and the barrel/slide assembly will be the Clark Custom .460 Rowland conversion. I have read (and calculated) that it will be about equal to the .44mag. I really want a 1911 hunting pistol. Do any of you have any experience with this gun/cartridge combination? How does it shoot? How accurate is it? How does it handle? How does it perform on game? etc. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
