I have used several ziess scopes and use swarovski 3x10x42 scopes myself .Your 3x9x42 ziess will be as bright as most 50mm scopes due to the superior lenses and coatings.You made a wise choice and do not need a bigger objective lens.

Thanks for the advice. I found a great buy on a new swarovski 3X10. I'm excited to see how it holds up compared to my leupolds. It is very bright in low light.
