Savage Axis
#1
A few years ago I bought a Savage Axis (without the Accutrigger) in .223 and its been my go to coyote rifle. I installed an Mcarbo Pro Trigger Kit in it and it has no problem pushing 55 gr bullets sub MOA and is deadly on yotes with the Sightmark infrared scope.
I recently bought another Axis 2 (without the Accutrigger) in 308 Win. I replaced the Accutrigger with a RifleBasix trigger. I'm still working on it as its shooting right about MOA but it has the potential once I find the right load and seating depth.
And just a couple months ago I bought my 3rd Axis. This one is an Axis 2 Pro in 6 ARC. This one still has the Accutrigger but I modified it by snipping off a couple coils on the trigger pull spring. This rifle is SWEEEEET! I'm shooting sub 1/2 MOA with 103 gr bullets with some groups as small as 1/4 MOA. Very negligible recoil and with speed very close to that of a .243. I plan on using it for deer this season at lest to fill one of my 6 tags.

I bought a Savage Axis in .270 about 5 years ago that didn't have the Accu triger. the factory trigger left a lot to be desired so I had a Timney trigger put in it and it. I used it in 2022 to take my antelope. Love the rifle.
