Default New toy

Just picked this little darling up this morning. A Henry H001M (22WMR). Full length magazine tube and octagonal barrel. Going to clean her up and take her out dancing next week!
Hmmm....can't add photo from my phone. I'll have to email one to myself then add it.

Should be a fun little rifle. Great little game getter, for folks who still have use for that sort of rifle!

For some reason I can't upload a pic and its only 95 Kb. Anyway that's why I got it. For the fun aspect plus I've been having a weakness for lever guns lately.

Good for you, nice addition. I just bought a new in the box Savage Axis .270 Win with a 3-9 Weaver scope on it. I had a hard time finding ammo but I did manage two boxes of Remington 150 grn corelocts at twice what the price should be so I am going to shoot it next week, 1st time it will be shot. It really ticked me off to pay $51.00 a box for .270 ammo. I haven't made an addition in a long time. Since I had no more room in my gun safe I bought my grandson a key lock stack on gun safe and delivered it to his house. I also delivered his rifle, shotgun and ammo ammo as well. That opened two slots in the safe.

Oldtimr if the trigger isn't up to your satisfaction and I can see that your Axis doesn't have the Accutrigger, you can get a spring kit from MCarbo.com that will cut the trigger pull down to about half. It only takes about 10-15 mins to install and is really easy. I put one in my Axis and its really sweet.

You don't have to Jake that's fine. The last time I went squirrel hunting is when my friend and I both bought 17 HMRs. Those things are so accurate I was limiting myself to head shots at ranges no closer than 50 yards! The first time out it wasn't even a challenge. But the main reason I bought the 17 was for turkey in the fall. Now you can't use a rifle in PA for turkey during any season.
Tell you what - if I don't have my buck during archery season I'll take you up on that offer and we'll meet up at the camp. I'd like to get one of those black phase grays that are around up there and have it mounted.

Thanks, I will let you know how it feels after I shoot it. I did dry fire it and it is certainly better than my Model 88.

Default Got

the new rifle on paper today. Not too bad bit I will have to get the trigger worked on, it caused me to throw a couple at 100 yards. I started ar 25 yds, it was high and right. I walked it down to the center and moved back to 100 yards. The hard trigger cause me to throw a couple but the 2 lowest in the bulls eye are from 100 yards, the rest are from 25. The fliers are from 100. I am going to a gunsmith tomorrow about the trigger.
