RE: Muzzleloader, What' s the best kind?
I have the T/C Omega and it is one of the simplest and easy guns I have to clean. And I get inch and a half groups at 100 yds. with the open sights. I' m sure a good scope would pull it down quite a bit tighter.
Yeah that new Savage is intresting, but I bet it will not be legal in some states during muzzleloader season. I mean if sabots are illegal, smokless powder probably will be too. Just something to look into before you buy one. |

Most people don' t think of pyro,T-7 and etc. when thinking of the Savage, but they will handle and shoot tight groups using the black powder subs too. They are not as pretty as some of the other muzzleloaders but they do work well.

The CVA Optima PRO is an attractive option because of the barrel, the camo pattern (personal favorite of mine) and the way it feels it my hand.
I was turned away from it because the action didnt feel solid to me. I really wanted to give it a try but I had a few people ( who also were considering it) steer me away from it. I am going to give the Omega a try. |
