Springfield sun-compact XD Mod 2 w/ 3″ barrel

I'm pretty interested in the Springfield XD mod 2 in 9mm.
Anyone have one or shot one enough to give me their personal opinion?
I'm considering it for CCW. I like the M&P Shield but want more capacity.

I have one in .45 so I can't comment on the 9mm model. But I went for it for the same reason as you ... capacity.
I find it comfortable enough to carry, but it's not tiny for sure. Very comfortable in the hand and the 'grip-zone' on the grip surfaces is helpful with recoil. I find my .45 to be a little bit snappy but controllable. I imagine the 9mm is quite comfortable and controllable.

Alright. Visited the gun shop today and handled a bunch of potential guns for next purchase. I love 1911 styles, especially Kimber stuff. But the Kimber Micro 9's grip was so sharply machined at the rear bottom it would obviously irritate the butt of my grip hand.
The Glock 26? I don't want a gun that I'm only gripping with 2 fingers so it's off the list.
S&W M&P 9c seemed pretty nice but felt heavy.
Looked at Glock 19 Gen4 but the mag release was under my thumb and if there any chance of thumbing that release while engaging trouble I don't want any part of it. Thye mag release is begging to be hit! Sig 320? Same thing, mag release too under the thumb.
Now the Glock 19 Gen3. Seems like we could have a winner here. Fills my hand nicely, mag release fine with my paw and the serrations on front of grip match my finger size and spacing quite well.
Get this cast off my arm soon, then borrow or rent one and blast a few boxes before likely buying one.
